George Crossfield died from wounds on 5th March, 1915, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 2nd East Lancashire battalion was part of 24 Brigade, 8th Division, that had were holding the line around Laventie in France at the beginning of 1915. |
